|Dear Dog Owners :|
I am very excited to announce the Academy for Obedient Paws, LLC is now accepting registrations for basic obedience classes utilizing the Click and Treat TM training method.
Your dog will not only learn basic obedience commands such as "sit", "down", "come", "heel", and "stay "with the Click and Treat TM training methods, but can also learn any task you wish that is within his/her physical abilities. This training method is based on scientific learning and has been utilized for years to train dolphins, whales and other animal "stars". Ever wonder how Babe the pig and the 101 Dalmatians do all those great stunts? You guessed it, clicker training.
I have used the clicker training method to train my Belgian Sheepdog and Belgian Tervuren many things I never thought possible. They will both open and close drawers and cupboards, put their toys into a basket, ring a bell to go outside, salute, high five and many other neat tricks. All of these have been solely trained with clicker training.
Clicker training is a 100% positive reinforcement training method. There is no yelling, jerking, or pulling. We do not use choke collars or prong collars. There are some instances where we do recommend the Gentle Leader Head Collar TM.
This is the most incredible training method I have ever used in my 34 years of owning dogs. It is simply the most effective and clear way to communicate with your dog. This method also builds a stronger, closer bond with your dog.
New sessions will begin in February, April, June, August and October. The classes will run once weekly for 7 consecutive weeks at 6:00 PM. Please call in advance to confirm class days and times. The class registration fee is $185.00 and includes a clicker, target stick and class handout/homework sheets. If your dog has a problem with a short attention span or is easily distracted a Gentle Leader Head Collar TM may be recommended. The fee for the Gentle Leader, including control lead, manual and leash is $30.00.
